J-tunes daily: Kanako Ito - Hacking to the Gate

Song of the day
Kanako Ito - Hacking to the Gate

Sung by Japanese singer Kanako Ito, the song Hacking to the Gate was used as the opening theme song to the anime adaptation of the time travelling, science fiction videogame, Steins;Gate.

Ito has also sung songs for wide variety of other anime and video games such as, School Days, Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer, Demonbane, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri, Chaos;Head, and Robotics;Notes, along with the anime series Please Twins!, Myself ; Yourself, and Hatenkō Yūgi, to name just a few.

With a punchy, fast-paced beat accompanied by Kanako Ito's strong and expressive vocals, Hacking to the Gate offers a powerful and engaging sound. The full and varied instrumentation flows perfectly with Ito's impressive, rhythmic vocalisations, while various shifts in tone and dynamic keep you engaged throughout, resulting in a marvelous and thoroughly enjoyable piece.

Hacking to the Gate remains one of my personal favourite opening theme songs, as well being one of Kanako Ito's best songs to date.
